GreenPrint is now supporting mobile devices. Smartphones, tablets (iPads, etc.), and any mobile device capable of sending e-mail can send print jobs to the GreenPrint system. There is no software to install. Simply send the files as attachments to GreenPrint@dartmouth.edu from your Dartmouth e-mail account and the jobs will be available to retrieve like usual from any GreenPrint release station. Files can also be e-mailed from non-Dartmouth accounts after completing a system generated registration request. This service is available to any GreenPrint account holder (faculty and students). All print jobs sent through GreenPrint Mobile will print double-sided and will produce a black & white copy if released from a black & white printer and a color copy if printed from a color printer. Multiple attachements can be sent in a single e-mail, with each attachment becoming a separate print job in the queue. The e-mail message sent with the attachement(s) will also become a separate print job. The name of the attachment and the subject line of the e-mail will be the name of the jobs in the print queue.
Please note: Service may vary slightly depending on the device's operating system and connectivity. The maximum file size may be limited by the sending e-mail system. Once you select print for a job in the queue there will be a several second delay between selection and actual printing.
GreenPrint Mobile is capable of printing the following formatted documents (Windows or Mac):
At the beginning of every term Dartmouth preloads all student and faculty Dartmouth e-mail addresses into the GreenPrint Mobile registry. However, if you would like to send a print job from a different e-mail address you will need to first register that e-mail address to your GreenPrint account. Registration is quick and simple, and there is no limit to the number of e-mail addresses you can register to your account. To register:
Once you follow these steps you can send print jobs using this e-mail address to your personal print queue whenever you wish.
