GreenPrint public printers are available at a dozen locations across campus.
For students, the College provides an allocation of free printing each term. The current per term quota is $20 for printing on GreenPrint printers. When the quota for printing is exceeded charges will be transferred to the student's DA$H discretionary account according to the following rates:
Dartmouth faculty have unlimited access to the black-and-white printers located in the Libraries.
For Library patrons and individuals who are not affiliated with the College, two black-and-white duplex Release Stations and one black-and-white simplex Release Station are provided for printing. See Where are the GreenPrint Release Stations (Printers)? Patrons should go to the Library's Reference Desk for printing instructions.
If you are not a student, you will be charged $.17 per page for black-and-white double-sided printing.
Download and install the GreenPrint software to your computer.
NOTE: after the GreenPrint software is installed on your computer, when you select to print a file to the GreenPrint system, the software will automatically look for updates. A box will pop up on your computer showing that it is looking for "Pharos updates". This will occur once every 24-hours.
On any computer where the GreenPrint software is installed, a printer named "GreenPrint" will be available. When you go to print a file, select the GreenPrint printer from the list of available printers. Then, when prompted, supply your Dartmouth NetID or user name and password, then enter the name you want to give this print job.
Note: Library patrons and individuals who are not affiliated with the College can get information on using GreenPrint at the Information Desk in the Berry, Kresge, or Feldberg libraries.
Once you submit your print job, it will be held in the print queue for 24 hours. You go to one of the GreenPrint Release Stations (located at various locations on campus) to release your job. Either swipe your Dartmouth ID card through the card reader attached to the printer, or enter your Dartmouth NetID or user name and password at the GreenPrint Release Station, then select your job. After a few second delay, your document will print on the printer connected to that GreenPrint Release Station.
IMPORTANT: The first time you use the GreenPrint system you are REQUIRED to swipe your ID through the card reader to activate your GreenPrint account. Logging in with your username and password the first time will give you an error that a number is not associated with your card. If you get this error, simply log in by swiping your Dartmouth ID card. Then you can use either your ID or your username and password.
