Migrating Your Personal Mailing List

After your BlitzMail account has migrated to the new Blitz system, follow the steps below to migrate any personal mailing lists in BlitzMail to the new Blitz system.

Note:  These directions do not work for Apple Mail users.  Anyone using Apple Mail will have to transfer personal mailing lists manually.

  1. Log in to the migration tool with your NetID user name (Dartmouth ID preceded by the letter "D") and password at http://dev.dartmouth.edu:8080/ListMigrate.
  2. Click Next to start the preparation of your personal lists for migration. After a few seconds, your server and account information will appear.
  3. Click Migrate Now to initiate the actual migration of your personal lists from BlitzMail to your account in the new Blitz system. After approximately one minute (depending upon the number of lists/items you have), a migration results report will appear

Important Note: Do NOT run this tool more than once as this may result in duplicate entries in your Blitz contacts list.

"Nested" addresses will not migrate properly. For example, if you have a personal list called "Mom" that has your mother's e-mail address in it, and another address list called "Family" that has "Mom" as one of the addresses within that list, the address for "Mom" will not appear in your "Family" list in the new Blitz system.

Additionally, if you have an address list that has the name of someone who was formerly at Dartmouth, but who no longer has a Dartmouth e-mail account, that person's address will migrate with the list, but it will not appear as active in the new list.
