The Software Development group of Technical Services is participating in several Internet2 Middleware Initiative Projects. Middleware is software supplying network infrastructure services, such as identification, directories, authentication, authorization, and security.
Dartmouth implements Shibboleth for authenticating Dartmouth users who need access to externally-provided services (such as certain Library resources). We are currently investigating deploying the Internet2 Grouper tool for managing group memberships centrally.
