Emergency Evacuation Plan

Peter Kiewit Computing Services

The emergency evacuation plan details the preparation for and procedures to be followed in the event of a fire, explosion, release of hazardous substances, or medical emergencies. The purpose of an Emergency Evacuation Plan is to insure that, during an emergency, all occupants of a building can exit quickly and safely, and that personal injury and property damage be minimized by the staff (Emergency Leaders and Emergency Managers).

At the sound of a fire alarm, all Computing Services personnel must:

  • Leave their office and close the door.
  • Evacuate the building immediately via the posted primary evacuation route. If the primary evacuation route is blocked, leave the building using the secondary evacuation route.
  • Once outside the building, go to their designated meeting place and check in with the Emergency Leader assigned to their group.

The Emergency Evacuation Plan is available to all current and new employees.

Evacuation drills will be held at regular intervals.
