If you have an account in the DND, you automatically have access to a wide array of computing resources. Given that the DND is used to authenticate users for academic and administrative services, the consequences of an easy-to-guess password have become much more serious. Every member of the Dartmouth community is responsible for the use and protection of their password. Therefore, you should not share your password with roommates, family, friends, co-workers, or anyone. If you think someone is using your password or that your account may be compromised, you should change your password immediately.
If someone obtains your user name and password, they can log into systems that do not require an eToken for access as if they were you. This includes your e-mail account, your Oracle Calendar account, and other systems you may have access to, such as BannerStudent, Blackboard, Hyperion, etc.
It is imperative that you protect this identity so that someone else cannot impersonate you on the network.
