The Future of Humanities Scholarship in a Digital World

Research Computing presents “The Future of Humanities in a Digital World” a lecture by Laura Mandell on Friday, August 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. in 105 Dartmouth Hall.

Mandell is a professor of English at Miami University, an affiliate of Women’s Studies and Interactive Media Studies, and director of the Digital Humanities Program. Working with groups at the University of Virginia and the University of Illinois, she is associate director of the Mellon-funded NINES project (http://www.nines.org) and the newly emerging 18thConnect.

Her lecture explores how a community of scholars in 18th- and 19th-century studies is working with libraries, university IT service divisions, programmers, and presses to transform the way humanities research is performed and disseminated.
