GreenPrint Quotas to Be Enabled September 24, 2003

GreenPrint is the distributed campus printing system for academic work. GreenPrint services are provided to support the academic needs of Dartmouth students and faculty and are not intended for use by administrative departments. Effective September 24, 2003, a quota system will be enabled for GreenPrint.

Under this system, the College will provide students each term with an allocation of free black-and-white printing. On an exception basis, a faculty member may request additional resources for a group of students based on academic need.

Faculty and staff in academic departments will continue to be able to use the black-and-white printers in the GreenPrint system with no quota. Administrative staff will no longer be able to use this system.

For the fall 2003 term, per term quotas for students will be 600 black-and-white sheets. Color printing is no longer provided free of charge. When the quota for black-and-white printing is exceeded or in the event of any color printing, charges will be transferred to the students DA$H discretionary account.

GreenPrint is available to the public for printing from Library resources at a price per sheet. The cards used for GreenPrint are the same as those used for the copy card system in the Library. To use the system, purchase a copy card at the Berry Information Desk (or from a card dispenser located in the Library) and swipe the card through the reader attached to the Release Station located near the Berry Information Desk to release your print document.

For additional information about these changes, see GreenPrint.
