| The new Blitz logo. |
With the help of Jermaine Johnson in Public Affairs and communications consultant Roland Adams (who developed our overall project communications plan), a new logo and tagline has been developed and approved for the new Blitz system. The team received feedback from President Kim’s Executive Group earlier this month and has developed the final branding.
As Blitz-2-Blitz progresses, the Project Management Team continues to refine our timeline. The phased launch of the new Blitz system is scheduled to begin in summer 2011 and conclude in 2012. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition to the new service for all Dartmouth users.
SharePoint, one of the components of the new Blitz system, provides a wide array of web-based collaboration tools, such as team sites, meeting workspaces, wikis, and blogs. Because it has so much to offer, we have decided to defer the rollout of SharePoint for a few months after the other system components are released. This will provide the Project Team more time to plan and prepare for a successful SharePoint implementation that is focused on providing the most useful tools first. The SharePoint schedule will soon be available.
The Blitz-2-Blitz team has heard from many faculty and staff emeriti who want to be kept up to date on the transition project and how it will impact them. We will be in touch with this group via e-mail to discuss their individual transition to the new Blitz system and to coordinate their training and support needs.
