Computing Services Employment Policies
Some of the policies for working at Computing Services:
- Standard Business Hours:Dartmouth Computing Services' normal business hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Most offices close during the lunch hour.
- Nonstandard Hours Support: For systems deemed critical by the institution, support is provided outside of standard business hours.
- Standard Employee Work Hours: To ensure support coverage, Dartmouth Computing Services normal staff schedules are between 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Individual schedules during those hours are at the discretion of the manager. Some staff will be assigned to different shifts. Exceptions to these hours can be made only at the discretion of a senior director. Exceptions can be made to accommodate customer needs or work productivity issues. To be eligible for schedule exceptions the employee must be in good standing.
- Confidentiality and Nondisclosure: All staff within Computing Services are required to sign a Confidentiality and Nondisclosure form (Word Document).

General human resource questions can be directed to the Director of the Administrative Finance Center, Rita Murdoch. Additionally each area of the College is assigned a human resources generalist from the Human Resources department who is available to assist staff. Student Employees
The students are the“front line” of support at the IT Walk-in Center. All positions in the Consulting Services group are filled on a term-by-term basis. The application process occurs over two to three days at the start of every term; applications are available at the IT Walk-in Center in 172Carson Hall.
Open positions are listed with Student Employment Office JOBNET. All students, regardless of their computing background, are encouraged to apply.
