Mission

Academic Computing fosters innovation and excellence in research and in the curriculum. We advise and assist faculty and students in the use of information technology for the creation, organization, analysis, and presentation of scholarly, scientific, and curricular resources. Academic Computing is a division of Peter Kiewit Computing Services (PKCS).

Guidelines

We welcome and encourage academic and general uses of information technology. To maximize our effectiveness in allocating our resources, we follow four general guidelines:

  • Innovation: We support creative and innovative uses of information technology.
  • Focus: We emphasize support for the use of computing in teaching, learning, and academic research.
  • Breadth: We help with projects that will educate and assist many faculty, staff, and students, rather than projects that reach only small numbers.
  • Equity: We act to reduce historical inequities in the access to computing resources.
