About Us

The Media Production Group (MPG) is Dartmouth's in-house professional media production center. The staff provides video taping, editing, DVD authoring, and duplication services for major academic and College events such as conferences, guest lectures, symposia, and annual events such as Convocation and Commencement. They also produce media pieces for training, promotion, and broadcast. MPG consistently works on high profile projects for College departments such as Admissions, Development, Athletics, and Public Affairs, as well as the graduate and professional schools. MPG uses broadcast digital and HD cameras, as well as renting equipment, as necessary.

MPG maintains state of the art digital video and audio editing suites using Avid Technology and Apple Final Cut Pro non-linear systems. These systems allow for the production of materials that can be distributed on DVDs and compressed for the Web. Staff members consult with faculty, students, and administrators on the purchase of equipment and services available in-house, and from local and regional audio and video producers, satellite uplink facilities, and tape duplicators. These services often involve coordinating events with outside vendors to meet our clients' needs. The group also provides coaching in planning, videography, post-production, and distribution.

The award-winning production team has over 28 years of combined experience translating the Dartmouth experience into dynamic media.
