Annabel Martín

Annabel Martín is an associate professor of women's and gender studies, comparative literature, and contemporary Spanish culture and film.

IMPACT ON DARTMOUTH

As chair of both the Women's & Gender Studies Program and the new Gender Research Institute at Dartmouth, Martín works to bring together different academic divisions and schools—as well as students, faculty, and staff—to debate and study issues of gender and social activism.

IN HER OWN WORDS

"Women and gender studies majors want to make the world a better place and a more just place.... There is an ever-increasing demand to bridge the gap between theory and practice, and this is reflected in the career options they follow."
