A former educator, Mary Cleary Kiely is a freelance writer and advocate for children with special needs.
LEADING THE WAYAwarded in 1980, Kiely's Rhodes scholarship was an achievement that at Dartmouth had been attained only by men. Her unprecedented award served as a public affirmation of women's limitless academic abilities and inspired other female students at Dartmouth to keep the bar set high.
