Meet at the DC ORGANIC FARM, 100 LYME ROAD, Hanover, NH
DONNA ROBERTS MOODY, Abenaki, and JOHN MOODY, ethnohistorian will lead a walk out to the BROWN ASH STAND at the DARTMOUTH COLLEGE FARM and discuss the history and traditions of the Abenaki and other Native peoples about the ash tree and its many traditional uses including baskets, snowshoes, and other crafts.
THIS WALK IS ABOUT 1 MILE IN LENGTH & INVOLVES SOME OPEN WOODS & TRAIL WALKING. Rain (if not torrential) or shine.
Participating organizations in this walk that was initially suggested by Christina Hoe '02 include Environmental Studies, The Tucker Foundation, the Organic Farm, the Dartmouth Outing Club, the Native American Program, Native American Studies, DCARE, the Koop Center, and Winter Center for Indigenous Traditions
