At Dartmouth, all roads lead to the Hopkins Center for the Arts. It is the destination for theater-goers and performing artists, for movie fans and art lovers. It’s where students come to connect with each other and with the outside world. Theaters, exhibitions, café, even the campus mailroom are all here at the Hop. Here too are journeys to discovery—in craft workshops that explore creative talent, master classes and other close encounters with distinguished visiting artists, a dance program that challenges dancers at all levels, and a wide range of student music ensembles, some also including members of the community.

Every summer, acclaimed off-Broadway theater New York Theatre Workshop brings six works-in-progress to Dartmouth for a residency. Dartmouth sophomores have the opportunity to work with the playwrights and actors as interns. Hear artists and students from the 2010 Residency describe the experience.
