If my verbal SAT I score is below Dartmouth's average, should I
still apply?
Many international students who attend Dartmouth have lower verbal SAT I scores
than their U.S. peers, and some have higher scores. We value the language
talent that many international applicants possess, whether they are bilingual
or have mastered several languages. Dartmouth does not have any "cut-off"
scores. Each application is read thoroughly and carefully even if the applicant
has below-average scores. Strong essays, classroom performance, teacher
recommendations, and interview evaluations in addition to SAT I, SAT II and
TOEFL scores help the Admissions Office determine whether a student has the
necessary English skills to attend Dartmouth College.
