We consider the educational portion of each Cross Cultural Service and Education project to be of utmost importance. The educational component sets our program apart from many others like it and we believe that it is this educational component which allows our students to gain a better understanding of the culture that they will be working in and therefore truly immerse themselves in that culture when there.
The educational component of each Cross Cultural Service and Education project does not end with the students on the trip, however, but extends to the entire Dartmouth community. It is expected that those who take part in a trip also take part in a presentation that is open to the Dartmouth community at large. Finally, it is intended that the education both of and on the part of the students partaking in the project will, in turn, allow them and other members of our community to see the injustices in our own culture and inspire them to strive for change in all parts of their lives.
The actual educational requirements of the students who take part of one of our trips are as follows:
