Program Description

Students Fighting Hunger

  • Seeks to raise awareness about local, national, and global hunger-related issues while meeting local needs through community service
  • Participates in community dinners throughout the Upper Valley
  • Organizes food deliveries and food drives
  • Assists in Red Cross Blood Drive
  • Organizes the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, as well as other educational activities.

Focus Areas

The 3 main focus areas are:

  • community dinners
  • food and clothing drives
  • awareness-raising activities

Community Partners

LISTEN Center, Department of Health, Canaan Senior Center, Oxfam, and others.

Time Commitment

Brief weekly meetings to discuss upcoming or ongoing projects; at least 10 hours per term, and an additional 2-3 hours per term for discussion, training and reflection meetingsl
