Town Meetings

In 1999 we instituted a series of public symposia modeled on the annual "town meetings" that are the predominant form of local government in northern New England. Traditional town meetings are based on dialogue and sharing of ideas and information. Meetings are held in public places throughout the region; relevant environmental health topics for each town meeting are chosen through conversations with town leaders and citizens' groups.
