As the central dining facility on campus, Thayer Hall contains four of the thirteen dining areas as well as a small grocery store, Topside, where students can use their ID cards to purchase food. Meals are purchased à la carte. Home Plate serves low fat and vegetarian food. Food Court has a little of everything with a deli, grill, salad bar, and soup bar.
Highlights of Dartmouth’s Dining Services
- In the latest survey of America's College Food Services by the Princeton Review, Dartmouth is ranked in the top 10 in the country for the quality of its food services.
- Food is available on campus any day of the week from 7am to 2:30am.
- Dartmouth uses a declining balance account to pay for meals. The cashier simply swipes a student’s regular ID card and the amount is automatically deducted from the student’s account.
- The Pavilion, which serves kosher, halal and sakahara food, is now open.
- You can also access separate declining balance accounts to cover laundry machines in your dorm, movies at the Hopkins Center, or services at off-campus businesses. Textbooks, school supplies, groceries, restaurants, delivery, haircuts and other services are also available through your Dartmouth Card.
The Student Employment Office
Here, the staff coordinates the broad range of student employment opportunities at Dartmouth. Students can locate on-campus jobs through an on-line computer program.
