Housing: A Model For Sustainable Design

This term students will revolutionize environmentally sustainable design through the design of a new model for energy efficient housing for the 21st century.

Topics to be considered will include renewable building materials and alternative energy sources. Students will then apply their research in the design of a house for a client on Block Island in New York.

There will be guest lecturers/ critics, an x-hour video series, and a mandatory field trip. Students will build models and use Form-Z software to make computer models and animated walkthroughs of their designs.
