The men's team won the 2001 New England Division Championship, its fourth in six years. The Big Green placed seventh at Nationals. Strong in the classroom as well as the pool, eight members of the men's team, the second largest contingent in the nation, was named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Men's/Co-ed 2001-2002 All-Academic Team

The women's team won the 2002 New England Division Championship and will continue its march to the top when it makes its third consecutive appearance at Nationals in early May. Competing since 1995, the women's team continues to grow and establish a powerful presence in New England. The women's team also proved its academic muscle by placing seven team members on the Collegiate Water Polo Association Women's 2001 All-Academic Team.
