so despite losing quite a few princesses to the night, fourteen of us rallied at williams yesterday to field not one, but two, teams. and both of them won! together!
more details:
SPLAYOUT played in a pool with midd and whufob. the princesses lost to the former (after a nice late-game rally) and then woke up the flow in time to put the smackdown on the progeny of our favorite mates (read: the latter). suprise guests jess (01) and karen (undergraduate admissions) came through for us with their superb handling.
meanwhile, on the (very) slanted field, LAYOUTH (it's on fire) beat wellesley and uvm (why not uvt???) to win the other pool. aekta, shmi, vi, abi, mar, liz and liz played well. yee. just in time for their monster bye.
splayout then kicked some universe-point butt to advance past uvm (why not uvt???) thanks to the playtex pantyguard's worth of flow that had grown throughout the day.
then we got to play each other. we roshammed instead. layouth came out strong, with a rash of scissors. the count was 5-2 at the half, but splayout didn't lose heart. indeed, some inspirational halftime speaking by nobody, inspired an inspiring, decisive win for splayout, anchored by kristen and christie throwing their fires (why not lie?). in the end, layouth didn't win, but we switched the scores so splayout didn't have to splay anymore.
so with our forces combined, splayouth came together and played with fire (and the juice, which we got). meaning we beat middlebury to win our section of the tournament.
