DARTMOUTH MEDICAL SCHOOL
DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY

Program in Molecular, Cellular and Systems Physiology

CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH:

Researchers in the Department of Physiology at Dartmouth investigate molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis, central nervous system circuits involved in cardiovascular control, and effects of developmental age, sleep state and brain lesions upon that control in a variety of species. The relationship of the latter aspects of cardiovascular control to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a common interest of a large group of investigators within the Department.

Faculty working in the Cardiovascular area:

Bartlett (also systems neuroscience, respiratory and sleep physiology)

Daubenspeck (also computational biology, and respiratory and sleep physiology)

deMuinck (also cell signaling)

Katz

Leiter (also systems neuroscience, respiratory and sleep physiology)

Li (also systems neuroscience, respiratory and sleep physiology)

Nattie (also systems neuroscience, respiratory and sleep physiology)

Swartz (also systems neuroscience and respiratory physiology)
