Program in Molecular, Cellular and Systems Physiology

CELL AND MOLECULAR NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH:

Physiologists at Dartmouth investigate questions in neurodegeneration, neurodevelopment, ion channel physiology, neural metabolism, and neuroendocrinology using a broad range of techniques that encompass molecular (e.g., gene isolation and mutagenesis, real time and single-cell PCR, use of transgenic and knockout mice), electrophysiological (e.g., patch clamp recording), imaging (e.g., MRI), and microscopic (e.g., EM, confocal, immunocytochemistry) approaches.
