Dear Members of the Classes of 2009, 2010 and 2011:
The Office of Residential Life offers students on-campus housing within communities designed to enhance opportunities for residents to learn from each other, while supporting the goals they have established for their academic careers at Dartmouth College. In late February you received a booklet in your Hinman Box or at home that contains information about our housing processes for summer, fall, winter and spring terms. Of particular interest to many of you will be the information on “Room Draw,” Dartmouth’s undergraduate housing selection process for fall term housing. There are many options available to you for the fall and we encourage you to read this information carefully and thoroughly so that you can take best advantage of the possibilities. If you are off in the fall, please take some time now to read the section on winter and spring term housing as these terms use our web-based housing application on BannerStudent. The winter term application deadline is October 29, 2008 and the spring term application deadline is February 10, 2009. Similarly all students seeking summer term housing must apply via BannerStudent by May 9, 2008.
A series of information sessions will be held in various clusters to answer questions about fall Room Draw. We encourage you to attend one of these sessions: monitor the ORL Student Housing Information Blitz Bulletin for dates, times and locations. We will also have a question and answer table in Thayer Dining Hall in the weeks prior to Room Draw to answer specific questions. Dates and times will be publicized in The Dartmouth, the ORL website, and on the ORL – Student Housing Blitz Bulletin. We hope that the information available on this website and in the booklet answers your questions and diminishes any anxiety you may have regarding Room Draw, winter, spring, or summer term housing.
