Information for Students

The Microbiology & Molecular Pathogenesis Program (M2P2) affords a unique, collaborative environment between principal investigators, students, and postdoctoral fellows. Our goal is to provide an outstanding training experience for graduate students and post-docs by providing opportunities for presentation, formal & informal interactions and collaborative projects.

Specific events and resources available through the Microbiology & Molecular Pathogenesis Program include:

  • M2P2 joint lab meetings
  • M2P2 Journal Club
  • Dept of Microbiology & Immunology Seminar Series
  • Special M2P2 Seminars by visiting scholars
  • NIH-funded stipends and funding for travel
  • The annual M2P2 Program Retreat

The annual retreat brings students, faculty, and post-docs from Dartmouth and other institutions in New England together for a 2-day conference covering a wide range of topics related to bacterial, fungal and parasite biology and the interactions of these microbes with their hosts. We hold the retreat in February at the Waterville Valley Ski Resort in central New Hampshire .

The Microbiology & Molecular Pathogenesis Program affords students and post-docs a multi-disciplinary environment in which to explore their areas of research while benefiting from constant constructive collaboration with other researchers representing a wealth of different scientific backgrounds.

Summer research opportunities for
undergraduate students are also available.
