"The teacher education program instructors are the primary liaisons between the Department of Education and the greater community, forming the third party in our department's undergraduate student teacher/local teacher relationship. Together, the local teacher and the department instructors provide the Dartmouth undergraduate student teacher with professional and personal support throughout the student teaching experience. In addition to the fieldwork supervision, the instructors teach associated seminars for the student teachers. In the fall, we supervise and evaluate student teachers in their full-time student teaching and lead an associated advanced seminar for these students. In the spring term, we teach a general methods course. Throughout the year we advise and screen applicants for the teacher education program and arrange field placements in partnership schools."
