Retrieving Dartmouth’s CA Certificate for use with IIS 5.1 on Windows XP Professional

Dartmouth’s CA Certificate can be retrieved as follows:

  1. Go to the Dartmouth College Certificate Manager.  Select the ‘Retrieval’ tab and then ‘Import CA Certificate Chain’ in the left hand frame.  Once this is done you should see the following screen.

  1. Select ‘Display certificates in the CA certificate chain for importing individually into a server’ and click the ‘Submit’ button.

  1. Copy the base64 encoded certificate into the Windows Notepad (including the BEGIN CERTIFICATE and END CERTIFICATE markers) and save the file with a .cer extension (e.g. dartmouthca.cer).
