What's New in Classics

The Department of Classics would like to introduce our newest visiting Professor; Marie-Claire Beaulieu coming to us from The University of Texas at Austin where she completed her Ph.D. in Classics.  Dr. Beaulieu received her BA & MA at The  Université de Montréal, Centre d’Études Classiques.  She is most interested in researching Greek Religion, Epigraphy, Lyric Poetry, Roman Elegy and Epigram, and Animals in Antiquity.  Her Dissertation was titled, "Hades and Oceanos. Immersion into the Sea as a Metaphor for Death and Rebirth in Greek Mythology."  Professor Beaulieu will be teaching Greek 30 this summer as well as other Greek & Latin courses throughout the 2008-2009 academic year.  Please join us in welcoming her to our department.

The April 28, 2008 issue of VOX featured an article on Professor Ulrich.  Click the link to read; "Modern Technology, Ancient Sites."
