MISSION
The Englert Cell Analysis Laboratory provides the Dartmouth research community with advanced instrumentation for the study of cells. To this end, it aims
The Lab is available for use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, different rules apply to "normal hours" and "other hours." "Normal hours" are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. If you use the systems during "normal hours," you can expect them to be warmed up and QCed. If you want to use the systems during "other hours," you need to be aware of our rules and restrictions.
DIRECTIONS TO THE LAB
The Englert Cell Analysis Lab is on the third floor of the Borwell Building, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center campus, in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Take route 120 (north from exit 18 on Interstate 89 or south from Dartmouth College in Hanover). Follow signs off of route 120 into the hospital grounds.If you enter the hospital building through its main entrance, turn right at the rotunda information desk and walk along the glass corridor into the Borwell Building. Once in the Borwell Building (you will be on the third floor), continue to walk almost to the end of the corridor. You will see the Flow Lab on the left marked with a bronze plaque and the Imaging Lab, just beyond, marked on the left with a green plaque. Parking.
FEES
The Lab is supported in part by the Core Grant to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and in part by charges to users (read the fine print). We do not charge for analysis time on computers, nor for training, nor for development work on new methodologies.
FACStar Plus/ FACSAria FACScans/FACSCalibur/FACSCanto Laser Scanning Cytometer (LSC) Zeiss Confocal System Zeiss Stereo Microscope * For those using the confocal system for many hours at a stretch, we charge the usual $40 per hour for two hours and then $5 per hour for any additional, continuous hours that are before 9am, after 6pm, or on the weekend.

The Herbert C. Englert Cell Analysis Laboratory is the shared flow cytometry and fluorescence imaging resource of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. It was established in 1981 with an instrument grant from the Fannie E. Rippel Foundation and has received subsequent grants from the Rippel Foundation, the NIH Shared Instrument Grant Program, and Dartmouth Medical School. It is maintained in part by Core Grant funding from the National Cancer Institute to the Cancer Center and in part by hourly charges to users.
