New Hampshire's Department of Environmental Services
has a range of responsibilities from ensuring water quality to
regulating the emissions of air pollutants and fostering the proper management of municipal and industrial waste. Units
within the agency are responsible for planning, enforcement, permitting, public information, laboratory services, geologic
services, information resources and financial and personnel management.
The
Bureau of Health Risk Assessment at New Hampshire's Department
of Health and Human Services is responsible for protecting the
health and wellbeing of New Hampshire citizens through the evaluation
of the risks to human health associated with exposures to chemical

The United States Geological Survey, New Hampshire/Vermont District is
currently conducting integrated large- and small-scale water resources and biologic studies of the environment.
