Research Topics/Working Groups: Epidemiology
of Arsenic; Movement of toxic agents through aquatic food webs;
Sources, fate and transport of toxic agents
Research:
Joel Blum's research focuses on geochemical processes that take
place near the earth's surface, with an emphasis on forest biogeochemistry
and hydrogeochemistry. He utilizes methods of major and trace
element chemical analysis as well as stable and radiogenic isotope
measurements to address topics that range from the global carbon
cycle to local groundwater transport problems.
