Research: Joel Blum's research focuses on geochemical processes that take place near the earth's surface, with an emphasis on forest biogeochemistry and hydrogeochemistry. He utilizes methods of major and trace element chemical analysis as well as stable and radiogenic isotope measurements to address topics that range from the global carbon cycle to local groundwater transport problems.
