TP 3 Site Visit
The meeting began with discussion of the
recent EPA site visit to assess TP 3. Several CAG members raised
questions regarding what is known about the ground and surface water
in the TP3 area, and how EPA will decide how much of TP3 will be
preserved. Linda Cook asked that the CAG be informed prior to all
future site visits.
Review Summary of Alternatives under
Consideration
Cindy Cook distributed a summary of the
alternatives currently under consideration. The CAG reviewed this
summary, and confirmed that these alternatives are the ones the
CAG would like EPA to consider in the Engineering Evaluation and
Cost Analysis (EE/CA).
Discussion Regarding Copperas Hill
Coalition's Process for Choosing a TAG Consultant(s)
Sally Mansur described the Copperas Hill
Coalition's (CHC) interview process for potential consultants, and
asked for the CAG's reactions. Fifteen proposals were received,
three people were interviewed. The CHC board intends to hire Dr.
Richard Downer to provide technical assistance in assessing the
cleanup alternatives. The CAG indicated that it supports this choice,
and suggested that the CHC also consider hiring Sherwood Reed to
provide assistance regarding wetlands issues.
