Policy on moonlighting.

The clinical cardiac electrophysiology training program has adopted the

moonlighting policy of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Graduate Medical

Education (GME) office. This policy is contained in the "Red Book," the policies

and procedures manual given to all residents. The policy on

moonlighting is reproduced below.

Moonlighting Policy

Approved by the GMEAC December 6, 2004

For purposes of this document the term resident will be used for residents and

fellows. The term moonlighting means to work for pay outside the requirements and

stipend of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center training program and applies to

         DHMC residents and fellows only.

General

         1.   Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center neither encourages nor discourages

               moonlighting.

         2.   The resident must have a permanent license to practice medicine in each state

where he/she moonlights. A permanent license is different from a training

               license.

         3.   The resident must obtain permission to moonlight from Graduate Medical

               Education and his/her Program Director.

         4.   Graduate Medical Education and the resident's Program Director must

determine that a moonlighting or locum tenens position does not conflict with

assigned duties and responsibilities within the training program.

         5.   The resident's Program Director must sign the Moonlighting Request Form for

each moonlighting assignment and may restrict moonlighting based upon

               training program considerations.
