Online playing sites make it easy to fit bridge into your schedule even when you can't make it to a "real" game.  The following are a few of the most popular.

We highly recommend Bridge Base Online for anyone using a PC (or Mac with emulation software).

Bridge Base Online.  A fantastic site which offers casual play with a variety of scoring options as well as tournament play and several educational components.  Features include tournaments, partnership bidding rooms, automatic recording of hands played, and live Vugraph presentations of major bridge tournaments.  The software is free for download.  Can be used on PCs or Macs with PC emulation software.

* BBO also offers a special playing area for improving players called the Beginner/Intermediate Lounge.  It's a friendly and supportive playing atmosphere, and there are also several bridge "classes" taught in the lounge by volunteer teachers and mentors. You can find more information on the Beg/Int Lounge website.

MSN Zone.  A free on-line playing site for PC users (sorry, no Macs).

Yahoo! Bridge.  A free on-line playing site.

ACBL On-Line.  A commercial site run by e-bridge for the ACBL.   It offers a social room (the "robots" are surprisingly skilled) as well as several daily tournaments which award masterpoints.  A wide variety of membership options are available and students receive a discount.

OKBridge. An on-line playing site.  Student membership is available for $50/year.
