Tonight will be the launch of The Undergraduate Teaching Initiative
(UTI)
Aly will write an editorial in Friday's The Dartmouth
Discussion of The Dartmouth Review Article
Synopsis: Priority is right, but the means of achieving the UTI is
flawed. The article maintains that it is impossible for the SA to
achieve all 4 points of the UTI.
The article does not offer any tangible advice for SA.

Immediate Tasks:
If there is a debate all members of the Committee can speak, and should
speak.
The Dartmouth Review's press is good. Very Rarely does the paper give
SA that prominent of a space.
Criticism:
Analysis of departments, and how will they be ranked.
Use of a quantitative scale weighting different factors.
Will use a precise formula.
The number achieved will then correspond to a letter grade.
The committee will give all departments all of the relevant statistics
used.
Difference between each tier is large, however within each tier the
difference is slight.
Short discussion on the Course guide and how to improve that.

Student Assembly Communications Committee
Minutes for Monday, October 22, 2001
I. Blitzlists were passed around in General Assemby meetings again
this Tuesday. Before next Tuesday we need to work on compiling the
lists.
II. We will begin to work on Press Releases soon. If someone would
like to be in charge of that and work closely with me, that'd be great.
III. POSTERS.
We made excellent posters advertising Tom Dent and the Revelations
Dinner.
IV. BANNERS.
We planned out banners for the UTI, Tom Dent, the Revelations Dinner,
and the $1000 event. I need help making these 4 banners on Thursday
at 2pm - blitz me if you can help. This will take me over 2hrs to
do myself, so please think about helping. thanks!
V. From now on, Meetings will be on Mondays at 9:15.
WHAT I NEED FROM ALL OF YOU:
1. If you can help me type up blitzlists pretty much any time this
week or weekend, let me know when you're free.
2. Are you my press-release prodigy? It'll take time committment,
so please dont say yes without meaning it...
3. Can you help me make posters Thursday at 2pm?
